Geraint or Big Gez as he was also known, was a larger than lifeperson. He was well known throughout Wrexham.
He worked at L&D as a removal man travelling up and down the country and always on the go.
He was a country man by heart, a Welsh country man. He was always on the allotment, sharing his crops with everyone, he loved it.
He helped his siter Haulwen rennovate her farm in the heart of Wales, helped his best friend on his farm most weekends, he was always helping somebody.
He was a local councillor and did a lot of good for his community.
He has a loving, loyal and devoted wife Liz.
He has a son Nigel, and his step children Louise and Leigh he raised from small children as his own.
He has six grandchildren Emily, Lauren, Rhiannon, Sion, Ffion and Osian they all adored him!
The youngest Osian was due on the 19th May 2007, he arrived on the 19th April, a month early. Geraint was so pleased another boy in the family. Unfortunately Geraint did not get to know his grandson as he died the day our baby had been due May 19th.
We are so glad he got the chance to meet and hold him.
He was from a large family of brothers and sisters, was particularly close to his siters Haulwen and Mair and their families.
He was renowned by friends and family for "winding people up", somebody was always at the receiving end, he had a wicked sense of humour and could drive you mad!!! He loved it!!
He left a large hole in our hearts and we are only just getting over the shock of his passing.
His funeral was held in our local Parish Church and it overflowed such was the respect for this lovely, kind and generous man. A family man.

We miss you Gez. xx

Yellow roses grow in heaven, Lord pick a bunch for me. Place them in my Dad's arms and tell him they're from me. Tell him that I love and miss him and when he turns to smile, place a kiss upon each cheek & hold him for a while. Remembering him is easy... I do it EVERYDAY! There's an ache in my heart that will never go ...

Happy Fathers Day x

We miss ya big man and the kids miss you to x x x x x

The Biggest Friendliest Giant My Uncle Geraint.

I myself have had the fortunate opportunity to of had this giant of a man as an Uncle which brings a smile to my face, not all my experiences of my Uncle Geraint were ones of smiles and laughter as there were times he would put me in my place and rightly so, as isn't that what close family members do for each other threw signs of love, affection and those times of worry when they can see a nephew on his way down the path of danger and destuction.I would not of changed him or his ways for the world.
I have so,so many memories of Uncle Geraint spanning back over 32yrs,i sit here and reminiss with a smile on my face,as a young child would visit my Nain&Taids in Trevor St at the time, those visits will be fond and cherished memories which i will hold close to my Heart as JOYFUL.Geraint was a man of awsome power an a wicked sense of humour, upon these visits to Trevor St, Geraint would have me in tears threw his pinning me down tittleing me until i almost wet myself, giving me dead arms and legs at the time my Nain&Taid had a jackrussel dog named Spot,at times he could be a viscious thing especialy when Geraint would wind him up,Geraint would dangle me upside down and tease the dog as me as bait, which almost had me peeing my pants at the time i hated him for it but would look forward to our next encounter.
I remember one night i was unable to visit our leigh due to my behaviour and there was a program on the TV about the club Wigan Pier, there must of been a good 7-10 young lads watching this program as we were regulars to Wigan,i wanted to watch this program with my cousin and friends so i scaled the white fence which surrouded the ground floor flats of Napier Sq,so Leigh opened his bedroom window for me to put my head threw to watch the program no sooner had the program started out comes Geraint via a bedroom door which led you to the back, for a guy of enormisity he moved like lightning that night he collard me and give me a swift clip across my head and sent me on my way over the white fence, thier are just a few of the memories i hold dear. All those who knew my Uncle Geraint can honestly say he was a guy with an enormous Heart.
I one day will get to see My Uncle Geraint and will give and recieve a huge Man Hug with lots of love and affection,I know some poeple will find it difficult but lets make this day of rememberance one thanks for the time we had him in our lives and not one great loss, yes we all lost some one of great fondness but grateful to of had him in our lives and he is with loved ones who also have passed on,I'm smiling as our Richard will be getting those dead arms and legs which was Geraints way of showing affection but also loved to wind people up,where ever you maybe Uncle Geraint please look down on us and never forget i for one will never forget you,and misses you dearly....
